Joan,Gary,Greg & Derek, We were saddened by the heartbreaking news of Chris passing away. So many memories of Chris are going thru our minds right now. The first time we met her we thought now, this is a person that REALLY enjoys life!!! Memories of Gary & Chris' wedding day, the births of Greg and Derek, Chris always cooking for the holidays or the boys graduation parties (she never ran out of food or if she did she would dig up some more from somewhere),Chris dancing up a storm at a wedding, winning money on the gambling boat(especially her favorite ELVIS slots),Gary & Chris' surprise 25th Anniverary party brought tears to our eyes when they renewed their wedding vows and I could go on and on about Chris. I considered Chris my sister by marriage that I never had growing up and she will be missed greatly!! Love you all, Linda & Don Wilson

I am one of Christine's cousins from California. I only saw Chris a few times, but every time, I thought she was so so beautiful, such a beautiful smile. I always wished that we lived closer to her and her family so we could have had big family gatherings together. Well, I guess now, our big family gathering will have to wait till we meet up in heaven. I am in prayer for you, Gary, as well as the rest of Christine's family that I am sure is heart broken. I will pray that time and Christ's love will pull you all through this tough time.

To: Gary, Greg, Derek, Joan, and to all of the Allegretti Family,
I am so saddened by the loss of Christine and my prayers are with all of you. I am sorry I wasn't able to be at the service, but I wanted so much to share with you my sincere gratitude to have known Chris.
Although I was miles away from Chris’ daily life, she made a lasting impression on me. When I was about nine years old, my Grandmother, Aunt Rosie to Christine, brought her to California. Chris was 16 then and it was the first memory I have a meeting a “Chicago Cousin”. As a nine-year-old, I thought Chris was the most beautiful teenager that I had ever seen. After spending time during that visit, playing cards and hearing family stories, I wanted to be just like her. She was awesome! She treated me like I was one of her friends, and I was just a kid. For some reason, Christine and I bonded on that first trip.
Over the years, I’ve thought about that visit from my beautiful cousin, the time all the Allegretti’s came to California and we went to Disneyland, and the first family wedding that I ever attended when we flew to see Chris & Gary get married. Then, about ten years ago, Ricky made a comment to me saying that he remembered that Chris was my idol all those years ago. And, you know what, he was right! I adored Christine and I looked up to her. Many years have gone by since that first connection, and over the years we only had occasional contact with living so far apart. Still, I cherish those special moments as much as I cherish the last really long telephone conversation we had when Christine was telling me how proud she was of her sons and how excited she was about she and Gary’s 25th Anniversary trip that the family was about to take.
Christine made a life-long impression on me and I am blessed to have these memories. As we say good-bye to Chris, and pray for her family, let us rejoice in the moments, or the lifetime, that we shared with her and rest in knowing that she is at peace with the Lord.
My love to the family,
Dawn

Christine was my aunt and my friend. I always enjoyed spending time in the summers with her, Gary, Greg and Derek when I was growing up. Someone once told me that Chris wasn't truly my aunt because she was only related by marriage. That really made me mad at the time. Chris was a part of my family, maybe not by blood, but she was family. I had a revelation while driving in the car tonight. I remembered riding with Chris when I was 13 and I found an oldies station she really liked. She continued to listen to it for 21 years and always reminded me I found it for her. I decided tonight I was going to find an oldies station to listen to in honor of Chris. I challenge each of you to do something Chris enjoyed in memory of her. If it's not listening to an oldies station, it could be watching a White Sox game, especially if they are playing the Cubs. Or it could be having a sleep over with your girlfriends. Chris sure enjoyed the time she spent with Deb and Sue, and many others. You could clean the house like the Tasmanian devil on speed. I figured Chris must have enjoyed it some, she did it all the time. If you are really motivated, you could go on a cruise like her and Gary did for their anniversary. You can watch shows about Martin Luther (founder of the Lutheran church) until four o'clock in the morning. You can pick up one of those big bottles of Italian wine she liked so much. There are so many other things I can't think of at this time. You can pick any day, if you see this in time do something on Thursday, 9 June. Or you can pick a day that was special to you and Chris. If all else fails, here are some other dates that were important to her, Feb 7 (her birthday), Feb 2 (Gary's birthday), Mar 31 (their anniversary), Jan 20 (Greg's birthday) or Feb 16 (Derek's birthday). Whether you do it once, or make a yearly occasion of it...always think of Chris with a smile. She wouldn't want it any other way.

Joan, Gary, Greg and Derek-
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this trying time. I wish I could be there with you but since I can’t, know I will be thinking of you. As everyone who met her knows, Chris is an amazing woman who I was honored to call my aunt and friend. She will be missed deeply by Devon, Trevor and I but will always live on in our hearts and memories. And boy, do I have some memories from my summers with you. :) Love to you all.
