Charles Cain Obituary


Cain Sr., Charles E. Long time Will County Political and Community Activist, passed away May 21, 2004. He earned a Bachelors Degree from Wilberforce University and a Masters Degree from Loyola University in Economics. Dedicated to making this world a better place for mankind, he was a committed Human Rights Activist and a true Humanitarian. He served dutifully on many boards including but not limited to: Will County Board of Commissioners / Minority Leader; appointed by former Governor Edgar to the State Tax Appeal Board; Board of Trustees for Lewis University; President and CEO of the Southeast Sanitary District; past Officer and Board Member of the NAACP; a Founder of the Joliet Times Weekly Newspaper; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Cain will lie in state on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1710 Carey St., Joliet, IL. Service at 7 p.m., Pastor Hector Edwards officiating. Interment Thursday, May 27, 2004, 10 a.m., Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL. Minor-Morris Funeral Home, 112 Richards, Joliet, IL 815-723-1283.
