Charles J. Agen

MASHPEE - Charles J. Agen, 57, of Mashpee, formerly of Belchertown, peacefully passed away on May 13th at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Linda (Tovet) Agen. They would have celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary next week. Charles was born and raised in Ludlow. He graduated from Ludlow High School in 1964. Two years after high school he graduated from Springfield Technical Community College. He served an apprenticeship and became a licensed electrician. He started his own business, CJ Agen Electric, which served the Ludlow / Belchertown area. He worked for many years until he became ill. In June he moved permanently to Mashpee, where he had summered for several years. In the Quail Hollow neighborhood where he lived, he knew everyone and loved socializing. Boating, hunting and being out in nature were some of the other things that he enjoyed. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Sherri Agen of West Springfield and Michaela Phillips of Westfield; his grandson, Zachary Graham of Westfield; his sister, Linda A. Vital of Truro; and his brother, Donald Agen of Orlando, FL. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. at Rt. 151, Mashpee on Saturday, May 17th at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, Mashpee Commons, Mashpee at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at a later date.
