Szmergalski, Cecilia Mary (nee Kluk) Age 83, of Orland Park (formerly 60-year resident of Chicago), called to eternity on December 15, 2011. Devoted daughter of the late John and Agnes (Surman) Kluk, beloved wife of the late Raymond. Cherished mother of Ronald (Deborah), Celine (Michael) Swieboda, Colette (Thomas) Woidat, and Cheryl (John) Goulding. Loving grandmother of Bryan, Janelle, Marine LCPL Raymond (Sarah), Kathryn, Matthew, Kevin, Emily, Elizabeth, Katherine, William, Michael, Bridget and Megan. Loving sister of the late Josephine (the late John) Ludwikowski, the late Genevieve Kluk, the late Helen (the late Bruno) Mordawski, the late Jean (the late George) Wierdak, Lauretta (the late Edward) Szmergalski, Frank (Joyce) Kluk, Marianne (Lawrence) Wysocki, the late Therese (the late Alex) Bielaga and Celestine (James) Kimery. Dear sister-in-law of Dolores (the late Frank) Artl and Margaret (the late Edwin) Michniewicz. Fond aunt and great aunt of many. For 20 years, she served as a bilingual Lector at St. Camillus Church. Among her travels both here and abroad, her first trip to Poland was the most memorable. In August 1991, she had the awesome privilege to present offertory gifts to Blessed John Paul II at an outdoor Mass he celebrated in his hometown of Wadowice, Poland. With gratitude to God for blessings beyond measure: a devoted, loving family, dear friends and relatives, kind, inspiring nuns and priests, caring, dedicated nurses and doctors, especially William O'Reilly, M.D. and Michael Lynch, D.O., as well as the stranger (angel in disguise) met along the way.
