EURICH Cecilia R. 1920 - 2009 San Diego, CA - Cecilia Eileen "Pat" (Riley) Eurich, 89, passed from this life on Friday, June 26, 2009 at her beloved home. She was born May 26, 1920, in Spokane, WA, the daughter and fifth child of Clara Susan (Engel) and John Joseph Riley. Pat married John F. Eurich in 1941. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2002 after 60 years of marriage. Pat was a Catholic and a member of St. John the Evangelist CatholicChurch, where she was active in the Catholic Daughters Society and St. John's School PTA. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice which she used to entertain during the late thirties with local bands and as soloist at many groups, meetings and in the church choir. Pat and John moved to southern California in 1946 and to San Diego in 1949. Pat was a "working mom" providing office support for her husband's textile dying business, The Dye House of San Diego. She was involved in Girl Scouts with her daughter, serving as leader for both Brownie and Intermediate Scouts. She enjoyed her garden and her beautiful roses. Pat was an active support to her husband in his membership and association with the Textile Dyers Guild of America, the San Diego County Dry Cleaners Association and the Knight of Columbus. Preceded in death by parents, John and Clara (Engel) Riley; husband, John Frederick Eurich; great-grandson, Eric Dakota Ruegsegger; sisters, Viola Rose (Riley) Mace and Mary Catherine (Riley) Poppy; brother, John B. Riley. Survivors include son, John Philip Eurich and his wife, Cecelia Janet (Godbout), of Santa Clara, CA; daughter, Patricia F (Eurich Goffeney) Wilson and her husband, J. D. "Pete", of St. Joseph, MO; granddaughter, Katherine C. "Kasey" (Goffeney) Ruegsegger of Willernie, MN; grandson, Jason E Goffeney of Alexandria, VA; granddaughter, Diana Cecelia "D" (Eurich) Boyle and her husband Jonathan, of San Diego, CA; great-granddaughter, Katelyn P. "Katy" Ruegsegger of Willernie, MN; sister, Genevieve Clara (Riley) Lenz of El Cajon, CA: cousin, Cecilia Mc Guard, of Omaha, NE and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held in San Diego. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7th, at Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary on 5th Avenue. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 8th at St. John the Evangelist Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
