Cathreen Clare Clark (née Weissgerber) was born on January 3, 1956, and passed peacefully but unexpectedly on September 27, 2025. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Lee, her sister-in-law Anne, her adored niece and nephew-in-law, Andrea and Michael Langeweg, and many other relatives and wonderful friends.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Leon Weissgerber, and James A. Clark, her soul mate and ever-faithful friend.
She loved her family and its history and was the keeper of the legacy begun by her great-grandfather, J. Marion Doesburg. A lifelong resident of Bayside, Cathy oversaw Alberta Acres, named for her great-grandmother, Alberta Doesburg. She did her best to maintain the home lovingly built by her grandparents, Cathreen and Arthur Vick.
Cathy loved the arts, couture, and nature's wonders. She investigated interesting topics and loved sharing her opinions and perspectives. Over the years, she shared her knowledge through her involvement as an instructor/docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Cedarburg Cultural Center, Artreach Milwaukee, and as a board member of the Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum.
When she gave, she gave from the heart; always looking at the gift, what it meant to her, and how it fit into the life of the recipient.
Cathreen was a magnet for animals, from the neighborhood dogs to the black squirrel that came to her door for treats. She communed with them all, and even the most skittish would go to her when she called.
A wonderful, spunky lady who loved with all her heart!
Aunt Cath, you are greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Forest Home Cemetery, 2405 W Forest Home Ave, Milwaukee, WI 5321. The service will begin at 11:00 AM and will be located in the Landmark Chapel, with the burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum or another organization supporting the arts or nature in Cathreen's name would be appreciated.

I've known Cathy since the 8th grade when she and her family lived on Granville Rd. It saddens me that she has passed so early in her life. We had a lot of great times "hanging out" at her house. The whole neighborhood would "hang out" at her house. If the weather was bad we'd be allowed to come in the sun room.
Lee and family, may God be with you.

On a recent visit to the Cedarburg Cultural Center, I was saddened to learn from members of the staff that Cathreen had recently passed away. I was the Executive Director of the Center from 1988 to 1998 and hired Cathreen as Performing Arts Coordinator during that period. She was a wonderful colleague on a staff of only four people, always willing to take on whatever task needed to be accomplished and always warm and accommodating to members and artists. I'm so sorry for your loss!

I have many warm memories of holiday gatherings where Cathy’s presence filled a large space. A big smile and genuine concern came along with her inquiry of what was happening in your life, and a suggestion or two for happy outcomes!

Cathreen's passing was such a surprise to me! In 2019, I was the Executive Director and recruited Cathreen for my board. She shared such a passion for Forest Home and I will miss the many discussions on what was good for the cemetery, and what was not! My sincere condolences to you, her family, and all who were her friends. God speed Cathreen!
