CAROLYN MICKELSEN Obituary

Carolyn Mickelsen 1938 ~ 2011 Carolyn Escott Mickelsen, 73, passed away on July 26, 2011 in Sandy, Utah. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on April 25, 1938 to Ernest and Viola Escott. Carolyn was raised on a dairy farm in Shelly, Idaho and was involved in 4-H and FFA. She loved riding horses. She was a single mother of three for eight years after her husband Wesley passed away in a car accident. She then met and married Don Mickelsen on April 5, 1969 in Bremerton, Washington. They moved to Nevada and ran a communication business and she continued enjoying her life with horses. She went to horse shows throughout the West. In 1990, Carolyn and Don retired and moved to Draper, Utah. Shortly after, they traveled the Western States. Carolyn was a fabulous cook. She enjoyed making quilts for her family every year, camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. Survived by her husband, Don; children, Wyatt (Gina) Burke, Westy Ann Wright, Lisa (Tim) Fogle, Michele (Josh) Winters, Gary (Chung) Mickelsen, Robert Mickelsen, Todd (Kelli) Mickelsen; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lamar (Sheryl) Escott, Jay (Terri) Escott, Richard Escott. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley Eugene Burke; granddaughter, Candice Marie Fogle. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S.
