Carolyn Earwood Obituary

Carolyn Cooper Earwood went to be with the Lord July 29, 2007. She was born June 14, 1962 in San Antonio. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School and from Angelo State University with a degree in accounting. She married her first and only love Edward Earwood of Sonora in 1984. Carolyn and Edward have two beautiful daughters Emily and Meredith- in whose eyes she knew with a certainty that the sun rose and set. In addition to raising her daughters with Edward, Cana loved and relished every aspect of the ranching life. Carolyn was a long time student of ballet and taught dance in Sonora for 20 years. She was an active supporter of 4H and Bronco sports. She attended every game and other events of Emily and Meredith's, and her love of dance and her creativity were tremendous assets in the many activities in which the girls were involved-cheerleading, plays, 4H, birthday parties, promsÉthe list goes on and on. In addition to her school, church, 4H, and community activities, Carolyn continued family traditions as a director of First National Bank of Sonora and a deep love of the Devil's River. Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving grandparents Elizabeth and George H. Jack Neill, and her cousin David Law. Survivors include her loving husband of 23 years Edward Earwood, their beautiful and talented daughters Emily and Meredith, her parents Jane and Richard Cooper, sister Elizabeth and husband Joe Davis, nieces Madeline and Libbye, mother and father in law- Barbara and Armer Earwood, Aunt Nancy Neill Law and cousins Jack and Judith Law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who all adored her. A beautiful light has gone out, but its warmth lingers on forever in our hearts. Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday August 1, 2007 at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Sonora. The family requests that any memorials be directed to David Neill Law Scholarship Fund, St Johns Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice. KERBOW FUNERAL HOME Sonora, TX 76950 (325) 387-2266

Dearest Edward, Meredith and Emily, Aunt Barbara and Uncle Armer, and the rest of the family, They say that Heaven is perfect, but somehow, when God calls people like Cana home, I have to believe it's more perfect. Though I didn't have the priviledge of knowing Cana well, she exuberated joy and light. She was one of those people that you felt good knowing because she was pleasant and positive. It was a blessing to know her. My prayers are for strength, comfort and healing for all of you. This news has brought a depth of sadness and I know she will be missed greatly. With love from extended family here in New Jersey, Becky Tirrell Weber

Edward, Emily, Meredith, Armer and Barbara: I cannot describe the shock with which I received this news. I so enjoyed my times with all of you and had such a great appreciation of Cana's energy, involvement and her skill at working around the ranch; that was a far cry from the ballet stage. Please know that my love and prayers are with you.

To Edward, Meredith, Emily, and the entire Cooper/Earwood family.... I will feel forever blessed to have such wonderful memories of Cana out at the ranch and here in Hawaii. She brought smiles and laughter everywhere with her love and exuberance for life. I know your lives will be forever changed with her presense not there to light up your lives. Cherish her, talk about her, keep her memories alive in your hearts and minds forever. Shock, sadness, disbelief, emptiness are just some of the emotions we felt when we got the call. I wish we could have been with you for the services, but know that we were there in spirit.

I will especially miss Cana when I surf in the Waikiki contest coming up in August. Oh how I was looking forward to seeing her, and I know she was excited about coming. Tandem surfing is like dancing on waves, and dance has always been a big part of Cana's life. She would have loved it! She will be with me up in the air as I get twirled around on the wave.

Love and Aloha to all of you!!

To the Earwood Family:

I went to school with Carolyn for years at AH. She was in some of my classes. I remember how happy she always was and how friendly she was as well as her big cheerleading days. Everyone loved her. I am saddened to learn of your loss and will pray that you are comforted with God's love blessings during this difficult time.
