Coppolino; loving mother of Joseph, JoAnn (Ernest) DuBois, Therese, Larry and Charles (Linda) Coppolino; dearest grandmother and great grandmother of many; loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Dear Joe, JoAnn, Therese, Larry, and Chuck, it was a joy to see you and recollect some of our many memories of growing up on 71st. And what "Prayer Warriors" our moms were.............(and are in the Lord's kingdom). In the near future I will offer a Mass in remembrance of your mom and dad.

Carmie was my late mom's very good friend back when they were neighbors on 71st Street on Chicago's southwest side. My favorite memory of Mrs. Coppolino is when she did a reading at my wedding Mass way back in 1979. My soon-to-be husband and I were kneeling at the altar and Carmie was at the lectern, ready to begin the reading. We looked at each and exchanged smiles. Afterwards, at the reception, she told me how much our smile-exchange helped make her feel less nervous in front of the congregation. She did a beautiful job with the reading. Another favorite memory is when, as a child, I'd walk in the house and hear her and my mom and some of their other lady friends reciting the rosary.
