On this Friday January 8th, I will again remember my longtime friend Carl Moore in a Mass for the repose of his soul. He generously supported my environmental work for a half century from 1970 until his passing. I still miss him very much. Fr. Al Fritsch, SJ

My condolences go out to the Moore family. The Loyola community has lost a great man.
I will always remember Dr. Moore as a great educator who also cared and worried about his students. No matter what level or class you were in, he would always make time to help you with any questions you had.
R.I.P. Dr. Moore.

What a Kind and Patient Man!
I was not PhD. material and struggled mightlily to make it through the under grad program in the early 60's. I always felt that Dr. Moore was pulling for me and it helped that he believed in me.
The education he helped provide paved the way for me to support my family and I never forgot him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Carl, Ann, and Martha,
I was so saddened to hear about your dad's passing You all were our backdoor neighbors in Morton Grove over fifty years ago. I can still remember the day you guys moved in. As busy as moving day was - both your parents stopped and talked to the five ragamuffins that lived in back of them. Your parents were both so very kind to our entire family from that day on.
I always enjoyed it when your mom and dad would come over to visit. They were quite extraordinary people.
Know my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My heartfelt condolences to Carl Jr., Maria and the rest of the Moore family. I'm so saddened to learn of the passing of your beloved father, Carl. He was truly a wonderful person. I felt like he was my father, too. I was so comfortable all the times I was with the company. I cherish every memories on Mondays for the bean soup, in the botanic garden, in his house for lunch or dinner, the harvesting of the tomatoes in his backyard garden, the sour dough bread, and so many other things and i learned a lot of ideas from him. Being a scientist professor he reached down to a caregiver. I'm so grateful and blessed to have met Dr. Carl Edward Moore, who become a part of my life in America. Carl, I will always pray for your eternal rest.

Moore family: I confirm what others say on this guest book about our dear friend and colleague , Carl Moore. Our association goes back forty years and one of the great pleasures was the years I was able to do post-doctorate work with Carl in 1967-68. We have stayed close ever since, and I feel like he was a second father. Al Fritsch, SJ

Dr. Moore was a remarkable scientist, mentor and teacher. His humor and unwavering faith in the human spirit lightened whatever burden he saw you carry and shined the way forward for you to continue to aspire to do great things. He touched all of us - his students - and prepared us well to make our mark in the enterprises that we professionally chose. He leveraged himself through us and thus made this world a much better place for all. Deborah C. Hockman, Ph.D. ('82)

It has been our family's pleasure to live next door to Dr. and Mrs. Moore for the past 16 years. They were great neighbors, friends and had the most brilliant, entertaining stories to tell. I'll miss seeing him every morning when he went out to raise his flag. Rest in peace, my friend and thank you for your friendship. Jessica Sieghart and Family.
