Calley Akouris, nee Svarkonis, of Westchester, age 90, born in Kamara, Arcadia, Greece. Beloved wife of the late James Gus; loving mother of Tina (Matthew) Corradino; proud grandmother of Nicholas Matthew and James Gus; dear sister of the late Louis (late Christine) Sverkounas and the late Eleni Floudas. Calley was a survivor of Nazi Occupation in WWII and a survivor of the Greek Civil War. She came to America at the age of 17, not speaking English and not knowing the family that hosted her and she made a wonderful life for herself. Services were held. Arrangements entrusted to Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home. For info 708-F-U-N-E-R-A-L

I´m saddened to hear about the loss of Tina´s mother. It sounds like she had an amazing life after overcoming such a traumatic childhood. Tina and Matt, it was a pleasure to know and work with both of you for so many years. God bless both of you and your boys.
