During his retirement Rev. Jackson continued his life of service, establishing a chaplaincy program at Wayne Memorial Hospital and serving as interim pastor for numerous churches in the area. I can remember as a child and all the way through adulthood my fond memories of Rev. Jackson and his beloved family. He baptized me in the Old First Baptist Church here in Brunswick. Carol was one of my best and dearest childhood friends. Mrs. Jackson was a very good friend of my mothers, and Jane a friend of my brothers. Though the years have passed, my whole family held Rev. Jackson and his family very near and dear and the love has never ceased and never will.

I have no doubt that Dr. C. Douglas Jackson is smiling and struggling right now with the weight of the crown placed on his head by the loving God that he served so well. I know he heard, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Dr. Jackson was preaching the message at First Baptist Church of East Point that allowed the Holy Spirit to move in the heart of this 11 year old boy, and he baptized me in the unheated waters of the baptismal pool that cold morning in 1975. I have never been the same since Jesus came into my heart, and I look forward to the day that I can thank Dr. Jackson personally in Heaven. I'll never forget how many times he said, "Thank you, thank you, a thousand times, thank you!" God Bless you, C. Douglas Jackson.

We were so sorry to here of Dr. Jackson's passing. I know that the earth was better off for having him here, so certainly heaven will be too. We were one of the many couples he married during his long service. When Dr. Jackson marries you it works. 29 years this September. Love to all
