Wald, Bruce Lewis Age 73, died peacefully on August 17, 2019. He was born on February 6, 1946, in Chicago, IL, to Jerome and Bernyce (nee Rubin). Bruce was raised in the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago where he enjoyed playing baseball with friends and neighbors. His family relocated to Glencoe where he graduated from New Trier High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from The University of Wisconsin and a law degree from Northwestern University. Bruce founded the law firm Tishler & Wald where he served as Managing Partner, specializing in Bankruptcy Law. On February 16, 1974, he married Carol Moscow. Together they had a son and a daughter. His favorite activities involved playing tennis, handball and golf with a large group of longtime friends. Many of these close relationships date back to grade school. Bruce is survived by his wife; son, Dan (Andrea); daughter, Lauren (Andrew) Kunitz; four grandchildren, Maddy, Layla, Mikayla and Brady; brother, Andrew (Tess); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol, Jacqui & I met you at Stan Millers home 3 years ago when we were all invited for end of golf season dinner. I didn't know Bruce that long, but had the privilege to play a good number of golf rounds with him for a couple of years. He was a smart, kind and gentle man. Also competitive though and I enjoyed all our time together. I am very sad that he has left us too soon. I am so sorry to you and your family for your loss.

Carol,

I just learned of your terrible loss. I have known Bruce for 50 years or more. I remember Bruce and his friend, Moose Gordon, from Horseshoe both as a Camper and as a Counselor. I worked with Jerry Wald before Bruce became a member of the Bar and since then was always in very close contact with Bruce, whether just meeting at the train station, referring work to him or playing racquetball. I have always considered Bruce one of my best friends and I am sorry I was not advised that he was not doing well. I certainly would have made time to visit with him and try and make his life a little less difficult had I known.

We last spoke after he closed his office and he never mentioned that the cancer that was discovered had progressed to a life threatening stage. I am so sorry for your loss and I will miss seeing Bruce from time to time. We always had a wonderful relationship and I know how much he loved his family.

Please extend our most sincere concern for Bruce's untimely death to your children and don't hesitate calling me if there is anything I can do for you.

Bruce and I met in law school and became good friends. After graduationfrom law school, we both worked in the Loop and often had lunch. Bruce represented Carol and me on our first house closing. Unfortunately, we didn't stay in touch very much after we moved from the Chicago area, but I will always have fond memories of my friend Bruce. He was one of the most honorable lawyers I have ever known.

My condolences go out to the entire Wald Family.
Bruce and I were handball adversaries and teammates for over 25 years at both the River Club and the Union League Club.
We enjoyed every minute of it and I miss him very much.

I regret to say that our paths after law school just never converged. However, the qualities mentioned by so many of those who have been blessed and honored to share his company over the ensuing years - warmth, kindness, gentleness, thoughtful, skillful and diligent advocacy - were all much in evidence back at Northwestern. He truly was a good man and lawyer and my love goes out to his family.
