Bonnie Ann (Lowrie) Hecock, 72, passed away unexpectedly in New Port Richey, Fla., on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017. Bonnie was born in Detroit, Mich., on March 6,1944, to the late Robert and Blanche (Snoddy) Lowrie. She married John Edwin (Ed) Hecock on July 1, 1967, and he preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2014.
Bonnie was a third grade teacher and a reading specialist, spending almost all of her teaching career with Wauseon schools. She played bridge and golf, and was in her church bell choir. In retirement, she and Ed lived in New Port Richey, Fla., where she was active with the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club, chaired the scholarship committee for many years, was president of the Anchorettes, and was also Vice Commodore. She continued to play bridge and golf, organized her book club, and volunteered in a local school.
She is survived by two children, Betsy Wenger of Wauseon and Dave (Bonnie Hiltz) Hecock of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren, Alex, Mia, Carson, Mackenzie, and Hannah; sister, Barbara Lowrie of Texas; and brothers, Bill (Lorrie) Lowrie of Texas and Scott (Liz) Lowrie of San Jose, Calif.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, with lunch following in the fellowship hall.

Ed and Bonnie were very good to me and the Avery's. Both my boys learned much working in the shop. I value their friendship. They are missed.

Bonnie and Ed have been a part of our neighborhood lives for many years. We watched our children grow, graduate, marry and have children of their own. Our lives were always connected, even when the Hecocks relocated to Florida. It was always good to hear from Bonnie and know that during her visits to Ohio, she would make time to have lunch with the neighborhood gals. I will truly miss her. Betsy and David, please know that this same neighborhood is more than willing to help you and your families in any way we can. Love, Susan
