Billie Stricker Obituary

Billie "Jo" Stricker, age 81, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1965, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. She was a homemaker and had previously been a paraprofessional at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Billie Jo Williams was born on November 7, 1931 in Higley, Arizona to the late Archie and Elizabeth (Crouch) Williams. She was a 1949 graduate of Chandler High School and attended Abilene Christian College. She married Edward Lee Stricker on February 16, 1954 in Centralia, Illinois. This woman of faith will be best remembered for her love of family, her acceptance of others, and her unconditional love. She was a patient woman who enjoyed time with family and had a keen memory for dates and family history. She was a member of Northgate Church of Christ in Phoenix, Arizona. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, camping, hiking, and fishing. She is survived by her husband: Major Edward L. Stricker, USAF (Ret.) of Colorado Springs and Phoenix, Arizona; their twin children: David "Strick" Stricker of Colorado Springs; and Debbie (husband, Randy) Mathis of Colorado Springs; son: Mark (wife, Dawn) Stricker of Tucson, Arizona; brothers: Gerald and A.C. Williams; and sister: June Beck. She has seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
