Frank Ongaro Obituary

Frank V. Ongaro, 77, lifelong Hibbing resident died Thursday, June 29, 2006 in his home. He was born in Hibbing to John and Mary (Franchina) Ongaro on August 14, 1928 and married Katherine E. Milosevic on August 3, 1957. Frank graduated from Hibbing High School in 1946 and received his undergraduate degree from the College of St. Thomas and his masters degree from Marquette University. Mr. Ongaro was an Instructor at Hibbing Community College for many years and worked in State government including services as a Director and Commissioner. Frank was an Army Veteran of WW II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW and the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Green. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; two sons, Frank Michael Ongaro of St. Paul, and David John (Gwen) Ongaro, Hibbing; daughter, Jeanne Jo (Scott) Fahlstrom, Mpls.; brother, Aldo (Carol) Ongaro, Hibbing; nine grandchildren, Matt, Sara, Jessica, Joshua, Nicholas, Molly, Andrew, Erik, and Mary, three great grandchildren, Domanic, Samuel, and Cameron. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 11:30 am. Monday, July 3, 2006 in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation will be in Church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Matthew Ongaro, Nicholas Ongaro, Molly Ongaro, Andrew Fahlstrom, Erik Fahlstrom, and Mary Fahlstrom. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dick Raukar, Albert Klobuchar, John Milosevich, Duane Russ, John Kayfes Sr., and James Green. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to North Star Hospice or the Northland Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
