Bess Donaldson Obituary

Donaldson, Bess Age 81, passed away December 10, 2016, after a prolonged illness. Donaldson, who was born in Gary, IN spent most of her work life in Chicago in a number of senior level positions - first with Social Security and then the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In 1984, Mayor Harold Washington selected Donaldson to serve as the City of Chicago's Commissioner of Housing. Donaldson ended her career as Vice President of Multifamily Housing for FannieMae. Donaldson leaves behind four children, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on February 24, 2017 at the Chicago Lake Shore Conference Center, the Lake Shore Room at 11:00 a.m., 4900 S. Lake Shore Dr.
