Berta G. Lozano Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and T was called to her glory by our Heavenly Father on Friday, December 17, 2004. Berta G. Lozano of Corpus Christi was born November 12, 1920, to J.P. Garza and Rosa Adame de Garza in Mercedes, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amadeo P. Lozano; son, Roy Lozano; sister, Lorenza (Lencha) Garza Champion; and brothers, Alfredo Garza, Rodolfo Garza and J.P. Garza, Jr. She is survived by her children, Sandra G. Lozano of Corpus Christi, Oscar Lozano of Austin, and Gloria Lozano of Jasper, Arkansas. She is also survived by five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister, Odilia Garza Champion of Mercedes; brothers, S.A. Garza of Austin and Leonzo Garza of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. Berta was a true and humble servant of the Lord. She ministered daily to everyone she came into contact with. She opened and worked in the food panty at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She volunteered for Aids Services of Austin and was a mother and Best Critic to the dancers and stage crew of Roy Lozano s Ballet Folklorico de Texas. Berta was a loyal Texas Longhorn fan and sports fanatic! The Lozano children want to deeply express their thanks to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Hospice Austin, nurses on 4 west at St. David s Hospital, Las Manitas and to the friends and neighbors for their loving care and support during this difficult time. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2004, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2004, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father J.C. Cain, OMI Celebrant. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Honoring Mrs. Lozano as pallbearers will be Sam Odoms, John Plyler, Ben Justice, Bodie Justice, Olie Justice, Bobby Champion, Leonzo Garza and Romeo Garza. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Lozano s memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Food Pantry or Roy Loazano s Ballet Folkorico of Texas.
