Bernitta Makowski Obituary
Her husband is Stanley Makowski, Larksville.
Born Aug. 3, 1958, in Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of Barbara L. Cottman, Wilkes-Barre, the late James A. Cobb, and her stepfather, the late Spencer P. Cottman.
She was a graduate of Chester High School. Her career was in sales/marketing.
She also was a wonderful homemaker and full-time mother and father. Her passion was singing, dancing and music.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregg Smith.
Surviving are children: Gregg L. Smith Jr., Bernitta L. Johnson and Tahij A. Johnson; granddaughters: Makenzi and Bianca Smith; the Cobb brothers: James, Michael, Eric and Reginald; sisters: June Cobb, Andrea Adams and Judy Fulton; many nieces and nephews.
Home Going Celebration will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill St., Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Michael Brewster officiating.
Friends may call at the church from 5 p.m. until time of service.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, Plains Township.

I attended Bernitta's celebration service at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 7... it was a lovely and inspirational service... may God continue to bless and comfort the family...
