Bernice was born December 10, 1914, in Oakland, Iowa, to the late Claude A. and Mary R. (Durick) Reynolds. She married Edward C. Hively on March 10, 1934.
Bernice was preceded death by her husband, Edward C. Hively (1985); brother, Lloyd Reynolds; sons-in-law, Paul E. Foote, Lonnie Wright and Robert Kline; granddaughter, Jeanne Schovanec; grandson, Robert Wright; and great granddaughter, Tara Kline.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Lois Foote, of Crescent, Delores Kline, of Dunlap, Roberta (Frank) McNeal, of Honey Creek, Donnis Wright, of Council Bluffs and Betty (Doug) Robson, of Dunlap; sister, Opal (Irvin) Eilts, of Crescent; 25 grandchildren and spouses; 53 great grandchildren and spouses; 40 great great grandchildren; and three great great great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, May 3, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
