WILLIAM WOODS
July 30, 2002
So saddened to hear that my colleague and friend had passed away. We taught together at the Carter school in the fifties, and our families and children became friends as well. A nicer, more gentler man does not exist. Our sympathies to Anne, Steven, Susan, and Michael.

My sincere sympathies on the passing of your dear husband, father and grandfather. Ben Ostrar was a true gentleman and educator. I can attest to the high calibre of the children he and his wife raised. No greater legacy can any person have. My best wishes.

I was librarian at the Willard School during Mr. Ostrar's principalship. He was always cheerful and helpful and full of good advise for a then young librarian working in a new environment. I extend my prayers and sympathy to the family.
