Madeline, Mark, Micheal, Bart, Gail & Family. I always loved your Dad and have thought of him fondly over the years. Great memories at the sandwich shop, his house, telling us his stories of Hawaii, going to Italy, etc. Although I have not seen him in many years, he was such a memorable man who always had a great smile on his face. My condolences to all of you and your families. Everyone who ever met him was truly lucky to have met this special man and I am glad to have been one of them.

I ate, usually beef's, at Vittori's 2x's a week for 10 years. 6 yrs(1971 thru 1977) while at UIC, 4 yrs while at the U of Ill Med Center. I introduced many customers to his shop over this time. While i was the floor manager at the MERC, between 1982 to 1986, i really had a craving for a beef. So i asked Bart if he could deliver 10 beefs to me. He said OK, but don't make a habit of it, because it was a long way to go for just 10 beefs. But since he knew me for such a long time, he brought the delivery himself. Well i did this 10 beef thing twice in a month. 2 full months later, Bart was bringing 300 mixed beef's, twice a month, by himself. 100 beef, 100 sausage, 100 combo's, 2 times a month, from 1983 thru 1985. We would talk, when he wasn't busy. Usually about his family(kids), as well as his vacation trips, with pictures. He loved going to Arizona, and said it was his retirement state. He even brought family pictures from his trips. When he closed his shop, he only made 1 family happy, AL'S BEEF!! I miss his shop, his beef's(I WANT THE BEEF BRAND THAT HE USED ALONG WITH THE JUICE RECIPE('THE PATIO' HAS A VERY CLOSE TASTE BUT IT'S MISSING SOMETHING), but i really will miss his spirit. He was kind, loved family, enjoyed his repeat customers, smiled a lot, loved sports, and was a great conversationalist when he had the time. Wish i was related to him, as he would have been a great uncle for me. He is a great man, whom has a great life and family. Don't be sad. Be happy that he either knew you or made you, and he both learned from you as well as taught you a little about life. What a great guy, and i'm pleased that i knew him for over 10 years, but always thought about him for the next 30. My thoughts are with all of you. Keep your spirits up. I can be reached at [email protected] .

Dear Nonnie, Mark, Michael, Bart, Gail, Perry, Renee, Mary Lou and your families, My deepest sympathy for all of you and your tremendous loss. I will keep all of you and Bart in my prayers. I have so many fond memories over the years. My favorite was Bart talking to his dog, his "Dolly".He was so gentle and sweet and not the "Bart" that barked the order to me,(when I was 12) " Go home and take that makeup off!" His family was his greatest joy and I knew if Bart was laughing everything was O.K. How all of you made him laugh!I always remember your homes filled with laughter; warm family gatherings with loud voices, but lots of love! Bless you all.Mary Alice

Auntie Nonnie, Sparky, Spike, Barty and Gail,

Thank you so very much for sharing Uncle Bart with me the last 5 decades. Uncle always made me feel like I was his son and was always so loving, kind and gentle with me. As you all know, I will always love Uncle Bart as I love my own father. Uncle Bart was my second father, confidant and sounding board my whole life. I am the man I am today because of Uncle's guidance. Many thanks Uncle for always having time for me. I truly believe DADDY WAS WAITING FOR UNCLE BART(HIS BEST FRIEND) AT THE GATES OF HEAVEN with open arms and a big smile. I will love you Uncle Bart as you loved me all the days of my life. Many heartfelt thanks from my heart to yours for everything you've done for me.
I know you are in the arms of Jesus now and forever. I will miss you so very very much Uncle Bart, no one will ever take your place in my heart, mind and soul. Rest in Peace dear Uncle.
As tears fall from my eyes, my heart smiles knowing you are in heaven with Jesus.
WITH MUCH LOVE AND AFFECTION,

Your Boy Robbie
