As others have commented we also drifted apart on our separate paths though I truly did try over the intervening years to reach out to find him. I'm so saddened it's now too late. We are brothers from different mothers; inseparable for so many years. We helped one another in so many ways over the years that ... damn. He & I played a LOT of music / jams together & had a nearly telepathic connection. I'm being self indulgent here, so let me just express my sympathies to all his other friends & family on his passing. One of the kindest, loving, and dynamic men I've ever known. Looking at the other tributes I'd just like to say keep on keeping on to Jillson, Mike 'Shag Dog' McCoyne, and the rest of us seeing sunrises. All The Best to his finest contribution that he ever made, his lovely daughter Gabbie.

remember/together/we all were friends
I remember we were in first grade together
your mom somewhat adopted me after grief of my own
it was the first symphony I ever heard when she took us together
we climbed trees too
together in grade school we ran track and field
you ran the distance I threw the weights
to my knowledge we played little league baseball together
of course our team was the cubs you played first base
we would spend many nights dawn patrol playing poker at pooh's all of us together pool cleaning parties foolish friends in high school during the days we would pool jump then came the girls
again we ran track together you were much better
we played music together you sang i tried guitar
then our early education in all we experienced was too shortly set us apart jazzy it all was
but somehow the west was the best and together again that old Volvo was cool you had
everything has its time and you landed in the windy city again together we kept in touch and when visiting i was your chef and you showed me the bleachers in your back yard i returned your guitar
from then on i phoned you just about this time of year and together we would jabber for hours
tonight i call you again B.Q. my friend telling you that i have not forgotten our many togethers

So long pal. You were a good true blue guy to work with. You taught me how to keep risky people from harming my business in the staffing industry. Loved talking bout your beloved Cubs and my Braves. With me being a Damian client in NC for 21 years I only got to meet you in person once but was glad we met. To his precious family I pray true peace. He would always tell me it was good the check owed to me/Damian came in but it will be even better when it clears the bank! Lol. RIP pal. ----Frank Scearce/President/Powertemp Services Inc. My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends
It gives a lovely light!

Too young to fall
all I need is a bowl and spoon
to live my life from night till noon
a spoon and bowl to savor gruel
a bowl and spoon to make me whole
no one left to talk to me
vacant stares are all I see
I loved that man with all my heart
My sorrow says we're so apart
Have I ever known a sadder day
maybe when my father died
or when Mr. Rutt fell in the lake
and the Rangers drank and fought and cried
so let's toss one back for ole BQ
the swiftest runner of us all
all I think and what I know is
he was too young and brave to fall

Barry, thank you for your many years of great service as a very important member of Damian's credit department. I cannot recall one day, time or hour when you were not in great spirits, loving what you did, enjoying a good laugh, and so gentle to all who crossed your path. You will always be loved and remembered as a wonderful person! Jim Stoynoff, Co-Founder, Damian Services Corp.

The only pleasurable gym class activity I remember at Hillcrest is something the coach called "Chase the Rabbit", which involved my class chasing (and never catching) the rabbit, Barry. Sometimes he'd slow down enough for the two of us to chat about the things young men chat about.
I have no doubt his good-natured ways continued throughout his life.
