Barbara Wolf Obituary

Barbara Laura Wolf Barbara Laura Wolf, beloved daughter of Ralph and Barbara Wolf, was an adored family member, gifted athlete, and devoted friend. She passed away on Tuesday December 28, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident. The accident occurred on Monday, December 27, while she and three friends were returning from a day of snowboarding at Loon Mountain. She is survived by grandparents John and Helen Bradshaw, and aunts and uncles Kathleen and Andrew Ingraham, Mary Ann and Randall Melquist, and Betty Wolf and John Hodgkins, and cousins Erin and Andrew Ingraham, and James and Parris Spencer. Laura was born on June 16, 1987 in Sergeant, Nebraska. Laura became the Wolf's precious daughter when she was adopted at 4 days old. She was a joy and inspiration to her parents and to all that knew her. She will be remembered always for her beaming smile and contagious laugh, her incessant kindness and her love for life. Her thirst for adventure inspired Rob and even the cautious Barbara to take up hobbies such as skiing and surfing; her curiosity and energy were infectious. Her natural energy soon found an outlet in competitive cheerleading, which she began participating in at the age of 10. At Merrimack High School Laura was on the Varsity Cheerleading Squad for four straight years, during which the team annually placed in the top four at the New Hampshire State Competition. Laura also excelled independently in the sport, and for three years running secured first place in the Capitol City Tumblethon, a regional cheerleading competition. She also made time to compete with the Celebrity Cheer All Stars, where she proved to be an invaluable squad member. Her gift for athletics did not stop there, and her daring, fearless spirit motivated her to take up track and field's most challenging event, the pole-vault. She easily mastered the sport, shattering Merrimack High's school record with her vault of 9'6. She also took sixth place at the New Hampshire Track and Field State Competition in 2003, and third place in 2004. Despite her busy schedule Laura was a dedicated student, and ranked in the top 25% of her class. When not involved in school activities Laura enjoyed snowboarding, horseback riding, and learning to surf. She also pursued flying lessons and by July 2004 was able to solo pilot a single engine plane. Her love for animals paired with her compassionate personality got her involved in Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a program in which individuals volunteer to train and raise seeing-eye dogs. At only 17 years of age, Laura Wolf had a lived a lifetime. She was blessed with many wonderful friends and family, and she was just as much a joy to them as they were to her. Her vivacious spirit will live on in the minds, hearts, and actions of those who knew her. Laura Wolf will be greatly missed and forever loved. She continues to give the gift of life through the Organ Donation Program.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd., Merrimack Monday at 3 PM. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack. Family requests memorial contributions be made to Christian Children’s Fund, 2821 Emerywood Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23286-4575. The George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH is in charge of arrangements. For more info or an online register book go to rivetfuneralhome.com

I'll Be

I'll be your shoulder

When you need someone to lean on

Be your shelter

when you need someone to see you through

I'll be there to carry you

I'll be there

I'll be the rock that will be strong for you

The one that will hold on to you

When you feel that rain falling down

When there`s no body else around

I'll be

And when you`re there with no one there to hold

I'll be the arms that reach for you

And when you feel your faith is running low

I'll be there to believe in you

When all you find are lies

I'll be the truth you need

When you need someone to run to

You can run to me

I'll be the sun

When your heart`s filled with rain

I'll be the one

To chase the rain away

Laura was all these things and more. She was such an amazing and inspirational individual who lit up the lives of so many.

Angel

- by Sarah McLachlan

You spend all your time waiting for that second chance

For a break that would make it OK

There's always some reason to feel not good enough

And it's hard at the end of the day

I need some distraction, oh, beautiful release

Memory seep from my veins

Let me be empty, oh, and weightless

And maybe I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel

Fly away from here

From this dark cold hotel room

And the endlessness that you fear

You are pulled from the wreckage

Of your silent reverie

You're in the arms of the angel

May you find some comfort here

You're so tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn

There's vultures and thieves at your back

The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies

That you make up for all that you lack

It don't make no difference

Escaping one last time, it's easier to believe

In this sweet madness, oh, this glorious sadness

That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the angel

Fly away from here

From this dark cold hotel room

And the endlessness that you fear

Oh, you are pulled from the wreckage

Of your silent reverie

You're in the arms of the angel

May you find some comfort here

In the arms of the angel

May you find some comfort here

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your precious daughter. May you find comfort in knowing that she will always be with you, and that she brought so much to the lives of so many-especially in the gifts of life she gave after her passing.

Peace

My heart goes out to the Wolf family. I only met them 3 years ago (when I met Laura) and they are the nicest people I have ever met. They're genorousity and kindness shown through Laura. I think thats why I was so drawn to Laur when I first met her. Her smile and laughter were so contagious that when you were around her it was impossible to be in a bad mood. I will always miss her and never forget her.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Wolf, (Family and Friends),

"If only" are the words that everyone wants to say when it comes to a moment like this but what we (as a family) would like to say is that "if only we hadn't had the wonderful opportunity to know Laura, yourselves and your family and friends, we would have missed a most gracious opportunity of a lifetime". We thank you for sharing Laura's life with this family, and with the people that she so touched. Laura's life will forever be celebrated by so many.

Our love, our prayers and our thoughts are with each and everyone of you during these most difficult days. Please know we are all here for you if you need us and what I think is even more amazing is that we all know you are here for us as well.

May God bless and comfort you. The Tacito Family

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds,--and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,

I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung

My eager craft through footless falls of air...

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue

I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace

Where never lark, nor eer eagle flew--

And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod

The high, untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

To the parents of Laura,

I did not know your daughter and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most tragic time of your life. I received an e-mail from a cheerleading coach sending me her thoughts because she thought I knew your daughter. My two children cheered at Celebrity. I too lost my daughter Stacy in a tragic car accident two years ago and can understand your pain and loss. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts as you journey down the path of the most difficult of grieving, losing your child.

Embrace and keep her close to your heart. She will see you through.

May God guide you and watch over you through this time of sorrow.
