Tom, Cynthia, Kevin, and Kristy. You have been good friends to us. Even though we have been friends for almost 50 years, there is so much of Barb's activities and contributions that I learned only yesterday at her memorial service. Truly, A LIFE WELL LIVED.

I really liked Barbara Wick! She was smart, caring and a practical person. In addition she really understood Association Insurance. While she was consulting for CAU, she arranged for me to be hired as a Regional Marketing Director of the company. We had to delay my start with CAU in January, 2003 as she was travelling to Prauge. She did love to travel. She taught me the rules, gave me insights and counseled me throughout my very enjoyable 7 1/2 years with them. Thank you.

Bless you Barbara, you were an inspiration in your field, you were my first insurance rep, 30 years ago!

Dear Tom and all of Barbara's family,
It was my joy to be able to visit with Barbara, infrequently, over the years. She was one of the most interesting and talented and caring women I have known. Even though our times together were few, I shall miss her and her wonderful Christmas letters. She had a special inner light and concern for others which will be a lasting legacy.
Please accept my sincere sympathy.

I'm going to miss you "Mme. President." One of my fondest memories at one of your Christmas parties was hearing Ernst Harboe say, "This place is swarming with Presidents." After seeing both of us and Rick Rieser, three successive Northfield Village Pesidents, sharing a laugh together.

Dear Tom and the Wick family. It is always sad when a loved one passes. But Barbara played so many more roles in your lives and will certainly be missed by those she has touched. Her accomplishments were many, excelling as a wife and mother, organizer, community activist, business leader, and certainly as a good friend and mentor, sharing hope and nurturing other cancer patients up to the end. She will be long remembered for all she has done and you will always cherish the fond memories rather than the suffering she endured for so long. We will remember her as witty, a progressive thinker, passionate and giving in her love and energy. What a legacy she left.

Tom & Family, Barbara was such a bright and lively person and one who was especially tenacious. We often thought that if the cancer knew in advance of what a struggle it was in for, it might have sought an easier target. She was a driven person and made such a difference with the Cancer Wellness Center and the North Shore Senior Center. We send our sincere condolences. Linda & Payson Wild

Dear Tom and the Wick Family...I am sorry o hear of the death of Barbara. Barbara was a great mayor of the Village of Northfield. It was Barbara who fought to bring Kraft's International Headquarters to Northfield. Kraft's 75 acre campus is a jewel at Northfield's door. Kraft farm was part of Techny and zoned small single family homes. If it had not been for Barbara Sunset Ridge School would have been doubled in size of students. Thank Barbara for fighting the battle for all of us..
There were many more Barbara did for Northfield...like the NSSC...she helped make NSSC what it is today...All of Northfield have a lot to be thankful for Barbara and her many activities.

On behalf of the NorthShore Integrative Medicine program, we extend our deepest condolences on your loss. We were extremely privileged to take part in her care. I first met Barb in January 2007, and every time we met, I was always touched by her candor, intelligence, humor, and resilience. She was an advocate for Integrative Medicine, for which I am truly grateful. What a beautiful soul. We will miss her greatly.

I met Barbara at North Shore Senior Center, where I work. Barbara always had interest with what I do as a social worker and the work that I do at NSSC. She always had a smile, if I saw her at the Center or out and about in Northfield. I am indebted to all the great support she provided as a member of the board at NSSC. She will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family.

From the late 80's Barbara had been a mentor of mine and a friend. Then in mid 90's she hired me to work at CISA where I had the honor to say that I work with Barbara Wick. She fought this battle so hard because that's what Barbara would do pure and simple. She touched many hearts in many different ways. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom and her family.

To the entire Wick family. I knew Barbara thru the ACOR Ovarian Online Group and met her personally in St.Louis in 2009. She was always full of information and positive. She will be missed by many teal sisters. I especially have Cynthia Wick in my thoughts and prayers at this time as she is part of our local group. I will have all of you in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Dear Tom and family:
Barbara was so special to me in that we were both first children of the Hart sisters so we had that bond. She was always there for me and she will be missed in a special way. She always had answers to those family questions I couldn't get anywhere else.
My love and prayers are with you all. Brockie

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge Barbara's passing. She was a gentle woman who put up a tremendous fight against her cancer. We have always admired her great attitude, her intelligence, and her love of life. An example of her dogged insistence of attaining her goals was exemplified by her driving table centerpieces cross country to the Swarthmore reunion recently. Barbara was a talented loving and kind woman whom we are going to miss greatly, but we know she is with her angels. Our hearts go out to Tom and the family.

We were so saddened to hear the news. Barbara was an amazing woman. Just as it seemed she did everything in her life, we know she fought tenaciously and intelligently to beat this disease, all the while maintaining her graceful elegance. Our most sincere condolences to this wonderful family as they deal with this heartbreaking loss. Barbara will be very missed by so many who loved and admired her.
