To Barb's family,

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Barb's passing. I well remember all the wonderful summers we spent together at Westport, Mass. (I'm her cousin). She was my best summer time buddy and was the first person I would seek out upon our arrival. More recently we had had some email contact after the death of my father

(brother of Barb's dad). It was quite apparent that she was very happy in her life. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Taccogna Family - our son, Ishan, was fortunate to be a student in Barbara's class just this year. When asked who his favorite is of the many teachers he has had for preschool and during his first year at Hurlbutt Elementary, he asnwers quickly "Mrs. Taccogna". She had an amazing talent for teaching.

We are very saddened by your loss and wish you strength during this difficult time. I have a video of Barbara playing guitar and singing with her Kindergarten class from just about 6 weeks ago. If you would like a copy please call me at 203-454-8930 or send an e-mail to [email protected]

With our sympathy,

Dear Erin,

I am so sorry for you and your family--I am in Fl. now and will try to call. Your mom loved you so much--that was always very clear. I admired her courage and strength. She was a great woman, and she lives in you. I will always be here for you. Love, Mrs. DeMelo

To Joe, whom Barb cherished, and to her beautiful children and grandchildren: always remember how Barb lit up any room she was in. Remember her when you look at a bright star. She will be there.

We loved her too.
