Barbara Monson Obituary
Barbara A. Monson of Berwyn, Illinois, age 85, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, 2024 peacefully. A devoted daughter of the late Anne and late Norman Monson. A fine mother of the late Christian N. Monson. Loving sister of the late Donna Monson. She is survived by her cousins, Lisa Ciorlieri and Kris Brendle & her long time companion, Ty Johnson.
Barbara will be missed but remembered for her kindness, humor and intelligence that she shared with her family, friends and neighbors throughout Chicago. She was a prolific writer that was noted by David Mamet of having promise and that came from her love of books, libraries and writers like Barbara Pym and Jane Austen, etc. Education, books and libraries were passions, she was an untiring champion of rights for people and animals, and her Catholic faith was a driving force to that end.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Leonard's Catholic Church, Berywn. Details forthcoming. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Countryside at 708-352-6500 or HJfunerals.com.
