Dear Mar and all your family,
Austie and I were life-long friends.
The day he was born my mother--with me inside her--went to see him. I was born three days later! He is never more alive than now, with the Lord, Mother Mary and all his relatives and friends at Home! Yesterday I began the first of a week's Masses offered in his name.

Austin McNichols was the prototype Fenwick Friar. He was a role model for a gneration of young Fenwick students in both his personal and professional lives. It is a teacher's greatest joy to be surpassed by his students. Austin's achievements as a husband, father, friend, and community pillar were a source of deep pride to the Dominicans who taught him.
