Dear Michael & Carolyn, We have known your Dad since the early Walgreen days when he was the "famous Rep. Group, Strauss Factor" Bob left Walgreen in '81 but we still always stayed in touch.
Bob & I did meet both of you when you were very young. One time in particular comes to mind with Carolyn. You came to Morris, IL. to visit other friends the Clemmons and we stayed & had dinner & you were playing with their children. We would call & send Birthday cards, Holidays never passed without one of us calling the other. Then 4 yrs ago we moved back into the Chicago-land area and of course got in touch with him once again. Bob & I had dinner several times with him at various places throughout the area & even convinced him to come to the burbs for a dinner too. Then as I continued to call him I could hear in his voice that he had become weak.I tried to tell him how we would like to come to visit & bring him lunch or dinner or what ever he preferred. However he always seemed to just say,"Let me call you in a couple weeks when I feel stronger".
We loved your Dad and will always remember him with the fondest of memories.
He was very proud of both of you! Never a conversation came by he didn't mention to us what you both were up to.
Take comfort in knowing how much he was loved by us & others.
Our deepest condolances.
