Arthur Rohrbough Obituary

Arthur Dallas Rohrbough, Jr., age 79, of Clarksburg, departed this life Sunday, November 2, 2003 at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following a brief illness.

He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia August 11, 1924, the son of the late Arthur Dallas Rohrbough Sr., and Nora Welling Rohrbough. His wife of 58 years, Virginia Ann Callis Rohrbough, whom he married November 5, 1945, survives.

Also surviving are four children, Arthur Dallas Rohrbough III, and his wife Libby, of Nutter Fort, Robert Lee Rohrbough of Clarksburg, Vicki Wagner, and her husband Terry of Clarksburg, and Tom Rohrbough of Nutter Fort. Six grandchildren, Tracy Sizemore, Artie Rohrbough, Kelly Rohrbough, Michael Lopez, Laura Wagner, and Nathan Rohrbough. One great-granddaughter, Taylor Sizemore. And, one sister, Ellen Andre of Raleigh, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rohrbough was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Rohrbough.

Mr. Rohrbough was a graduate of Washington Irving High School. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served his country in World War II. He was a retired Yard Master from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and Chessie Railroad with 35 years of service. Mr. Rohrbough was a member of the Duff Street UnitedMethodist Church, and a longtime member of the Sunny Croft Country Club in Clarksburg. He had a great passion for the game of golf, and dearly loved his regularly scheduled outings on Tuesday mornings, Thursdays and Fridays. Along with his playing partners, he will be sadly missed by his many friends, and his beloved family.

There will a Service of Remembrance Wednesday, November 12th at 2:00pm at the Davis Funeral Home. Reverend Amy shanholtzer will officiate. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Dear Virginia and family,



I am a third cousin once removed of Arthur's and although I have not met your family, wanted to let you know that I am saddened at the loss of one of our family members and that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I am a descendant of Dorcas Rohrbough and Watson Tenney of Upshur Co. and know some of the Rohrbough family.
