Arthur Rogers Obituary

My sincere condolences to the Rogers family, I was saddened to hear of your loss.

Mr. Rogers had faith in me when no one else did. Unfortunately I never got to thank him properly and now he's gone. He was a wonderful, caring, giving man, and I wish I had have kept in contact with him over the years. My sincere condolences to the family.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

I was fortunate to know Mr. Rogers when I caddied at Park Ridge Country Club from 1965 to 1969. There were many a Sunday morning that began with me at St. Paul of the Cross early mass with a handful of caddies and Assistant Pro John, then over to the Club, often arriving about the time Mr. Rogers would be in the first group teeing off, depending on whether or not we stopped off at Thompson's Bakery first. It was always a pleasure to be in his foursome as he was a kind and generous man. I am especially grateful to him and to others like him at PRCC as I was fortunate to receive an Evans Scholarship and attended the U of I. I also am glad that my eye noticed the photo of Mr. Rogers in the obituaries so that I have this chance to tell you how great a member he was and how much the caddies liked being in his foursome.
