Arnold Howard Tilley, 53, of Statesville, North Carolina, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a self-employed auctioneer, died at Durham Medical V.A. Center in Durham, North Carolina, on Tuesday, January 14, 2003. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2003, 7-8:30 p.m., at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, 705 Davie Avenue, Statesville. Lying in state on Saturday, January 18, 1:30-2 p.m., at New Prospect Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, 2 p.m., at the church, officiated by Rev. Mark Robinette and Rev. Ronnie Millsaps. Graveside services are scheduled for at the church cemetery, officiated by Snow Creek Masonic Lodge No. 571 A.M. & F.M. Full military honors will be conferred by V.F.W. Post No. 2031, D.A.V. Harold Littlefield Chapter No. 68, American Legion Post No. 271, and American Legion Post No. 65. Arrangements entrusted to Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, Statesville, North Carolina.

there will never be another arnold.he was always there for anyone that needed him.i will miss our swimming days and clowning around.never will forget arnold teaching me how to drive and dance and rollerskate.my son alex was looking forward to sucba diving with arnold.we love you and will miss you but know you are having fun clowning around in heaven.may god shine on you and your family.see you around
