Arlene Dinkel Obituary

Dinkel, Arlene Burgess age 92, of Glenview, also formerly of Tequesta, FL and West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on January 3, 2006 from complications of cancer. Arlene was a devoted wife of the late Norman Joseph Dinkel, loving mother of Joan (Donald) Tierney, Norman (Holly) Dinkel Jr. and Barbara (Paul) Sheridan, dear grandmother of Julie (Michael) Harron, Jody (Whitney) Jacobson, Christopher Sheridan, Jennifer (Christopher) Hartzell, Sandgren (Luke) Karl, Timothy Sheridan and Eric Dinkel, and great-grandmother of five; fond sister of the late Howard (Helen) Burgess. A resident of Sauganash for over forty five years, Arlene was active in the Sauganash Woman's Club, and the Queen of All Saints Woman's Auxiliary, served on the Women's Board of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, was Secretary and long time member of the Women's Western Golf Association, and served as Past-President of the Presentation Ball Auxiliary. Arlene was also vice president of Dinkel's Bakery, the family business since 1922. She was an avid golfer who played at both Edgewater and Evanston Golf Clubs, and her motto was "never pass up an opportunity to enjoy life". Visitation, Friday 10:00a.m until time of funeral mass 11:00a.m at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 North Sauganash Ave., Chicago. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
