Anthony Lazzara Obituary

I wasn't very old when you passed, but I was old enough to know the kind of person you were. Even now more than 16 years later I still read these messages left for you and see how many people you really touched and genuinely cared for you. There aren't many days that pass where I don't think of you for at least a minute. Over these years I've read these messages I never had it in me to write something to you. Life has been going by so fast it's crazy. Just yesterday I was 6 years old watching you jump off the garage into the pool, and it seemed like you were flying. Now here I am as an adult at 23 years old and I just got married. I really wish you were there, you would've loved it. Everyone danced the whole night away, even your dad. I remember going to the Blackhawks game with you where you'd put me on your shoulders and I'd point out girls for you and Frank to go talk to and I pretended to be drunk at the bar you had let me sit at. I don't remember much of how my mom told me about what happened. I do remember she kept telling me how badly you wanted to be my uncle, and that is something that has stuck with me since. I loved being around you as a kid and now as an adult I love thinking about how you've watched over all of us and protect us. Thank you. I'm sorry it took so long to reach out to you, but that doesn't mean I don't think about you. I love you.

I remember the last time you hugged me; it was when you found out I came to watch your hockey game. If I slow down and let myself, I can still feel it. I love you.

Dr, Lazzara was a wonderful docter, I will never forget him or the love he had for the Lord and all god"s children. The world has lost a great man.

"Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart." ?

It's been a year now, and the whole world still misses you. The only thing that comforts us all is knowing we have you as an angel. <3

Wow, almost a year already since you've been gone. I miss you so much, and I really wish you were here to brighten up my days and make me smile or make me laugh at something completely stupid. I miss your hugs, your laugh, and your goofiness...I miss everything. I haven't been the same since you left nor do I know if I ever will be. I'm really trying to live life how you did, worry-free and fun; it's kind of hard though. Man, I really wish you were here, Anth. I need you so much right now, probably more than ever. You just always knew what to say and just seeing you made me so happy. Please look out for me, even though I'm sure you always are. I love you so much cuz. Say hi to Auntie Joy for me and give her one of those bear hugs of yours. You'll always be in my heart and until we meet again, I love you I love you I love you!

It's been a year that you've been gone and I still look for you every time I pass by your grandparents house hoping that I'll see you standing on that driveway once again. Or see you drive by our house, smile & wave!!!! That beautiful smile of yours could light up an entire room. Please watch over your family......they really need you right now to help them be strong. They miss you every minute of every day, as our whole family does......Please look in on them from time to time so they can always feel you near!!!! Our family will never be the same without you. We will carry you in our hearts forever. You rest now in your mama's arms sweet angel and we'll see you again one day. Until then baby cousin.........I love you always!!!!!

It's been almost 6 months since you left us & I still cannot bear to believe that you are truly gone. I think about you every day & we all miss you so much, especially Papa. We will never understand what you were feeling, but I hope we gain peace in our hearts & our minds over time. You took a very large piece of all of our hearts when you left. You, your smile, your chuckle, your bear hugs, your everything will never be forgotten. Please know that we all love you very much & promise me that you'll watch over your dad & your little brother. They need you. Feel free to drop in every now & then, just don't scare me! And give your mom a kiss for me & tell her i miss her too. I love you honey.

It has been over a month since you left us, A.J, and I am not finding it any easier to believe that you are gone. I could not have asked for a better friend than you. You could always make me laugh even if I were sad. My day was always brighter when you were in it. I will always treasure every moment we spent together, and long for the day when I can see you again. You took a piece of my heart with you A.J, I will always love you!
Until I See You Again

Anthony and I went to East Leyden High School together and even though I was never introduced to him, I knew who he was. Let's just say that I adored him from a distance. I learned that he has left this world not that long ago and ever since I feel great sorrow- mostly for his family and those who were close to him. Please, accept my condolences!

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as your family grieves. We know your pain, it has been a year since we lost our daughter. We are here for you if you need a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen or a warm hug.

Anth..you were the man..life of the party..and truly one of the greatest people I ever knew. I honestly will never forget you saying "its Jackie Clark", every time I saw you. I am deeply so sadden that you are gone, and you will forever be in my heart..always and forever. I love you and miss you.

Anthony, We have gone to school together since Kindergarten ...Can you believe it?!? since We were 5!!! :) your smile, your laugh and your caring heart have touched the lives of so many people and I am glad that you were a part of my life. Miss you and I'll see you again someday.

Thank you so much for teaching me how to skate. I had to time of my life in your class. You will alwasy be in my prayers.

Here is something that helped me get through when I lost someoneone very close to me. I hope it can do the same for all of you.


To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Anthony and Family,

i am so sorry for your loss. i knew Anthony through a friend that he went to Triton with. After she got to know him, i did also through her stories of him in class. After that we went to almost all of his shows to show support. My first impression of him, was that he was a sweat guy who would do anything for his friends, and he made me feel so welcome among people that i didnt really know. And his music has stuck with me since then. he will greatly be missed by many people. i am happy to have known him for at least a short period of time, and only hoped i could have known him better. He was truely a GREAT person! Rest in Peace and hopefully someday i will get the chance to get to know you better!!!

I've known Anthony since I was 4. He tied my shoes for me in kindergarten until he actually taught me to do so myself. I was with him in school for 10 years and I never forgot about him nor will I ever do so. He's in so many of my childhood memories and I always remember him smiling and making jokes.

My deepest sympathies go out to his family, especially his father and his brothers.
His death was a great loss to this world. He touched so many people's lives and he probably never even realized it.

We will all miss you, Anthony. You'll be in our hearts forever.

Losing a loved one is never easy. I can only pray for God to give us all the strength to deal with our loss. Anthony was a good man and he will be missed. I feel like we all lost a brother. My heart goes out to his family.

No words can describe what i have felt after hearing the terrible news that sent shock throughout our towns. Most of us in disbelief and some of us still trying to grasp the fact.
