This is very sad to read as it is a big blow to my childhood from our neighborhood. Tony was one of my neighborhood friends. He and his brother John had the hockey nets we set up on Octavia to play street hockey with for years. I became a pretty good sniper from player so much with them and the other neighborhood kids. Tony and Chris Bytof were usually on opposite teams because they were our two best athletes in our neighborhood. Everyone would ask how the hell I hit so well in baseball. Well, Chris pitched briefly for Lane Tech from the left side and Tony pitched at Shabbona Park from the right side. Tony later was a star running back for Lane Tech that won the city championship.

I too was one of Tony's LTHS classmates. I remember fondly helping him cram for some final exams our senior year. His joy of life was infectious. I pray that God be with you at this time of loss.

I was out of town when I heard about Tony's passing. I wish I would have been able to extend my conolences personally. Tony was a great person and he has been in my thoughts and prayers since I heard of his passing. Several people left me voice mail messages. Obviously he was loved by many.

I was a classmate at Lane Tech. I am very sorry for your loss. May God keep you and comfort you in your time of need. May you also be comforted by knowing he will be missed and remembered fondly by the class of '79.

Tony was in my high school home room division. He was a great guy and well-loved. He will be missed. My heart-felt sympathies go out to his family.
