Oma, where to start?
You were there from the beggining.
You were there in the end.
You took me to museums, The Dells, riding in the country, Wild West Town, even to Ohio and your work. I remember when I was four and used to watch you leave to your job at three or two o'clock in the morning.
I remember living in Mundelein in your house, then moving and you lived in Mom and Dads house.

Back then you were just Oma. I never realized how important a moment with you was. I wasn't very close to you. Even though you came to every school event, was there for every birthday, had an ear to listen, and bed to share when bad dreams kept me up. You taught me to love Christmas more than just for presents. Christmas was our favorite holiday. Somedays, we just drove around, singing to the Christmas station, and seeing who had the best decorations. Just me and her. She even made our last Christmas together special.

When you got sick, I tried so hard to take care of you. Filling up your drinks, sleeping in your room with you, and watching the Oldies together was what I loved to do with you and I will always cherish the memories we had together. You were so special at making everyone around you feel loved. Even small animals like birds and cats.

I love you Oma and you will always be remembered.

She was a gem, and we lost her. What a wonderful lady she was. May God bless her family in this time of sorrow. Every time I pass the American Flag she made with loving care that we framed and displayed in the hall at Machined Products, I will think of the great Lady she was. She faced the hand that was dealt to her with courage and dignity. She was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew her.

To my old friends that I have not seen in a while, my deepest sympathies. I have lots of great memories growing up next door to you guys and your mother was a big part of that. I lost my father 11 years ago, so I know the pain in your heart.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

"Lisa's Mom" - as you were always known to me - wow, what memories I have of you, your crew, and your house.

There was never an unwelcomed animal in your house (or yard as the case may be!)

No matter what kind of mischief your kids had gotten into (and there was plenty of that to go around), they always KNEW you loved them unconditionally.

I learned to like country music at your house because that's all that was played, and the radio was left on many nights that I slept over.

I loved that I could come over ANYTIME (and often did).

I remember your laugh - when something struck you particularly funny, it was so genuine and hearty!

You took me to my first "R" rated movie (Young Doctor's in Love) when I wasn't old enough to go.

I have so many memories I could write a book. The years I spent with you and your family will never be forgotten.

You will be missed dearly by your friends and family, but I am sure that they feel so blessed for the time that they had with you. You left your own little footprint on everyone's heart.

I knew Anne since I was five years old. Carleen and I were friends since then. She, Anne used to tell me how she recalled how carleen and I getting into trouble in school. Ann was like a mother to me. She is a very caring person and a very generous person. We all will miss her.

Although Anne is no longer with us in reality I know that she is with us is all our hearts. I will never forget her because she taught me to spell and read, so by the time I was in Kindergarten I was the only one who could read. She taught me how to spread the wings I now know how to use and soar with. I promised my Oma (Grandma in German) that I would live the life she taught me to live. My Oma talked me through hard times and loved me very much. When I needed help she was there, and when I was sad she was there. On mother's day my sisters, and I always got her a card as if she was our Mom. Through other people's eyes she was just a mother, grandma, and aunt. Through our eyes she was a gentle, caring, generous, giving woman who built the world around us. All her life she worked hard and in the end, she suffered. She had always told us that she wished her pain on absolutely no one. All her life she worked and after she retired she gave and gave. Even though she is gone, she is still my hero, and I want to be like her!

Anne was much more to me than on ordinary grandma. She was much, much more special to me, she was an "Oma". I loved her so much. She was there when I was born and will remain with me internally. God knows how much she meant to me. She was one of those people who I knew I could talk to about anything. She is missed dearly by a numerous amount of people. My Oma was a funny person who always had a joke up her sleeve and ready to make me laugh. Time after time we always shared the good times and the bad times. She is forever in my heart. I love you Oma, and your kitties miss you too.

Anneliese Gardine was more than my aunt--she was the only mother I ever knew, my best friend, Thelma-to-my-Louise. I will miss her every moment of every hour of every day of the rest of my life. She was elegant, kind, patient, forgiving, loving, generous beyond reason and funny. She worked hard her entire life and carried the emotional wounds of a German child of WW II. I am angry that she was cheated of her golden years after a lifetime of hard work. The world is a little less brighter, a lot less kind and forgiving without her in it. She loved all animals, slot machines, reality TV shows, her family, jewelry, and her friends. Rest well my dear dear aunt, you earned it. With all my love, Belinda

Anne was not my aunt by blood, but her friendship and her love made her as big a part of my life as any of my family. We shared a roof for far too little time. She has so much love that it will last my life time and beyond, through all of those that knew her. I will miss her being here, I won't forget her.
