Although I am so very sad at Mrs.Bentley's passing I take a certain happiness and pride in knowing that, being her student those many years ago, I take a piece of her with me where ever I go. It in turn has been passed on to my children. What a wonderful thing, and, what a wonderful woman! To the Bentley family, my deepest sympathy.

Pam,Cathie and Susan:
Normally at a time like this, there is so little one can say. But that wasn't the case at the wake tonight. Over 25 Sandburg graduates showed up and patiently waited for time with each of you. That's not only a tribute to your moms teachings, but a tribute to friendships. I can still see her standing in your kitchen on Vine listening to Frank Sinatra singing "That's Life".Gosh she loved him!
Peace be with you.

Pam, and family, I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. We all had great respect for her as a teacher and a person. I wish I could be there to offer my condolences in person, but I will be watching from the usual place,(given to me by Mrs. Bentley and many other teachers) the hallway.

How sad I am to here of Mrs. Bentley's passing. She was my favorite teacher. I have so many fond memories of my Jr. High years at Sandburg and Mrs. Bentley will always be one of the best ones. She was a teacher who cared and I was blessed to have her teach me. I hope it comforts her daughters to know that many thoughts and prayers are with them.

I didn't have her as a teacher but knew how much my friends liked her, but she was a neighbor and was well respected by us both as children and later as adults. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Mrs. Bentley was a teacher at heart and new how to command a classroom with assertiveness, yet fairness. She is a teacher I remember very well because she cared about all of us.

There are many who call themselves teachers, few are educators. This fine woman was an educator. She understood how to make a young person want to learn and grow.
She will be missed.
All of us who knew her, will always remember the many lessons she shared with us.
My deepest sympathy to all of her loved ones.
