My mom .What can I say about my mom that all of you haven't said by just being here today. When people talk about mom they would say what a special person she was even if they only met her once they would say " I remember her she is a special lady". Someone was always asking me how she was it might be an old friend, a new friend or maybe 1 of her little cub scouts from when she was a den mother but someone was always thinking about her. Mom loved life so much and tried to bring joy to others may it be by being their friend or helping out at a luncheon or maybe making crafts for a fund raiser which she so much enjoyed .Even as the end neared my mom stayed strong and still worried about others more then herself. It was tuff for her at the end because she could not do her crafts, or go help a friend . Mostly not being able to take her sister Kaye shopping every Monday which she always looked forward to. How mom did it I don't know but she gave from her heart until the end. Caring about others when she was most likely sicker than they were. But that's mom. As I write mom though out this little story I can't help but think about all the young people who call here mom and their kids calling her gramma it again shows the special person she was and how everyone loved her.I could go on writing about her but like I said if you met her I don't need to tell you what a special lady she was.I just want you all to know she made us laugh and smile til the end never losing her sense of humor. One thing I know for sure if someone hears of her passing and doesn't get a tear in their eye or at least a lump in their throat they didn't know my MOM.

Aunt Anna,

My earliest memories are when Dad, Mom & I used to drive from Chicago out to the "country" to visit you and Uncle Pat and my cousins. There were always good times at your house and good food too! How fun it was, listening to all the adults tell stories of "old" times and how I LOVED looking at all the pictures you had of our relatives.

When we moved to California you always called when there was an earthquake or a fire to make sure we were OK.

I think my fondest memory, is of the time you and Aunt Kay and Jimmy flew out to visit us for my Dad's 75th birthday. What fun we had surprising him! I heard SO many stories about my Dad, in only the way you could tell them! It was also the first time, as an adult, I had seen my Dad interact with his sisters. I will never forget the impression it made on me. I saw first hand the strong bond between you and the love you had for one another. It made me understand what having family is all about.

When we last spoke you said, "We've been through ALOT together this past year." And I agreed. Indeed we had! Despite your own health challenges though, you regularly found time to call Aunt Choo-choo to find out how I was and how she and my Sis were. When we spoke, I found strength in the words of encouragement you always had for me.

Thank you for being my wonderful Aunt Anna. I will miss you, but I know that you are watching over me and will always will be close to my heart.

Love,

Melody

Gram,

I love you so much. There is nothing that I can really say to express how much you meant to everyone that you encountered in your life. You had a truly kind heart and a wonderful personality. I know that you are in a better place, and that is the comfort that I have in knowing that you are temporarily gone from my daily life. You were my grandma and my friend, and I will miss you tremendously.

Love,

Mike
