Alvina Stephanites Obituary

Stephanites, Alvina J. "Dollie" (nee Zaremba) Age 82, late of the East Side and formerly of South Chicago. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Stephanites; loving mother of Deborah Stephanites, Robert (Sandra) Stephanites and Roxann (John) Lopez; cherished grandmother of Mary and Lia Stephanites; dearest daughter of the late Stephen and late Mary (nee Plebanski) Zaremba; dear sister of late Stephen Zaremba and late Eugene (Yolanda) Zaremba; fond sister-in-law of late Peter (Geraldine) Stephanites and Conrad (Camille) Stephanites. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Survived by her canine companion, Baby. Dollie was a retired employee of South Shore Hospital. She had a zest for life that was contagious. Was an avid bowler, loved to dance the polka and jitterbug, a lifelong sports fan enthusiastically cheered for the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls and Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed music, especially Huey Lewis & the News and Rod Stewart. Visitation Friday, November 1, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to St. Michael Church 8235 S. South Shore Drive Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Cemetery private. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.
