Alta McBroom Obituary

Ms. Alta Edna McBroom age 90, of Conway passed away Monday August 5, 2002 at Conway Regional Medical Center. Ms. McBroom was born February 25, 1912 in Czar, MO a daughter to the late Arthur Berry and Etta Sease. Ms. McBroom was a retired school teacher in the DeSoto School system, a member of the First United Methodist Church in DeSoto; she attended St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Conway. Alta was known lovingly to all of her family and friends as “Nanny”. Ms. McBroom was an avid bird watcher, she loved her flowers, and per her son – in – law Don she had “showy flowers”.

She is survived by Two Daughters: Debbie Culwell and husband Don of Conway, Mary Ann Boyer and husband Tim of Rogers, AR, One sister: Frances Hoecker of Deep Creek, Maryland, Sister – in – law: Mary Sue Berry of Tampa, FL; Three Grandchildren: Merrie Clark, Andrea Hill, and Kevin Culwell; Four Great Grandchildren: Hailey Wilson, Matthew Hill, Caitlyn Hill, Anieca Clark. Ms. McBroom is preceded in death by her husband Delbert A. McBroom, Alma Halter, Lena DeWitt, Rolla Berry, Louis Berry and Billy Berry. Services for Ms. McBroom will be Wednesday August 7, 2002 at 10:00p.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with Rev. John P. Gierke officiating. Viewing will be from 9-10 before the service. A private burial will be held in DeSoto, MO. Memorials maybe made to St. Matthews Building Fund. 1050 Morningside Dr. Conway, AR 72032.
