Allen Campbell Obituary

Campbell, Allen R. "Rambo", Big Al", Captain Al" Age 56, passed away peacefully after a four year courageous battle with stage 4 prostate cancer. Born in Chicago, living in Homer Glen for the past 16 years. Allen was a printer for over 30 years and loved being a Custodian at Lockport Township High School for the past four years. Member of St. Bernard's Church, Homer Glen; a volunteer for EMA, Homer Glen for many years, loved camping, visiting amusement parks, working around the house, staying busy, he always put everyone before himself, loved helping his friends and neighbors, he would give you the shirt off his back! Most importantly, he cherished time spent with his wife, children and especially his granddaughter. Preceded in death by his parents Allen G. and Esther (Venditti) Campbell. Survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Shirley (Johnson) Campbell; three devoted children, Jean (Timothy) Hess, Laura and Jason Campbell; cherished granddaughter, Madison Hess; two sisters, Mary (Ron) Iacono and Anita Bubis; numerous nephews, nieces and many friends also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Campbell family would be appreciated. Services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel, 1105 E. 9th (159th) St., Lockport, IL 60441 with Deacon Kevin Ryan of St. Bernard's Church, Homer Glen Officiating. Per Allen's wishes following Services cremation rites will be respectfully addressed.
