Shalks, Alfonse "Minnow" age 81, at rest May 14th, Veteran of WWII, beloved husband of the late Isabelle (nee Lohola), loving father of Nancy Shalks, Michael (Patricia), James, Janet Shalks (Joseph) Swojenski and Patricia Shalks, proud grandfather of Stephanie (James) Quigley, Jennifer and Michelle (Michael) Brosseau, great-grandfather of Susan, Jacob, Joshua, Jack and Joseph, dear brother of Charles (Sophie) and the late Sylvester (Louise), Edward and Steve Shalks, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday, 9 a.m., from Community-Opyt Funeral Home, Nina Talso, Director, 14338 S. Indiana Ave., Riverdale, to St. Damian Church. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Interment private.
