Alexander Wojtonik Obituary

Wojtonik Jr., Alexander Joseph "Joe" Age 67, of Lockport, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 11, 2016. Born in Chicago, living in the Bridgeport neighborhood and living in Lockport for the past ten years. Retired in 2009 from Morton Salt after 45 years of service. Member of the Route 66 Association and President of Morton Salt Quarter Century Club. Joe loved to garden; was an avid Chicago Bulls and White Sox fan and loved his Jack Daniels. He was a devoted husband, father and papa; the center of his life was his family. He loved to make, create and upcycle. Preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Joseph Sr. and Lucille (Pyle) Wojtonik; and a brother, David Wojtonik. Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dee Wojtonik; his cherished daughter, Stephanie (Thomas) Adams; two adored granddaughters, Paige Sophia and Brooke Alexa Lyttek; and a sister, Tammy (Tyler) Schiessle; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family also survive. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wojtonik family would be appreciated. Per Joe's request, cremation rites were respectfully addressed. A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME, 1105 E. 9th St. (159th St.), Lockport, with Father John Ohner of Our Mother of Good Council, Homer Glen, officiating.
