Alexander Ihasz
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Alexander Ihasz, 87, passed away unexpectedly on December 13.
Born in Hungary on July 18, 1923 to the late Louis and Rose Ihasz, Alexander came to the U.S. in 1956, moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 1962. He worked as a machinist for Chrysler, retiring in 1984 after 25 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, as well as the Hungarian-American Club and the Hungarian Culture Club. Alex served in the Canadian Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, Alexander was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julianna in 2009 and his brother and sister-in-law, Frank (Rosemary) Ihasz. He is survived by his sons, Rev. Gary (Kim) of Springfield, Ohio, Bob (Carol) of Springfield Twp., and Mark (Lori) of Cuyahoga Falls; brothers, Rev. Vincent (Ann) Ihasz of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Rev. Louis (Mary) Ihasz of Braddeck, Nova Scotia; sister, Mary (Jack) Brill of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Robert, Rachel, Justin, Rebecca, Nicholas, Jacob, and Samantha Ihasz.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL (at 3rd St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls). A funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
