Alex will always pop into my head at the most random moments.. I take it as him saying hi. Miss ya man

I was living in Dekalb for awhile and every time I´d drive past Lincoln Hall, I´d picture us sitting outside and talking til all hours of the night. I miss you buddy.

I think about these two wonderful guys all the time. I´ll never forget the image of Alex wearing his long trench coat waiting at my door for my son and his friend Matt.

Best buds and best bros, forever. Best sons, Love you forever and ever.

Mom I had forgotten he dressed as a nerd - your idea no doubt ;) or dad's - he's on my mind muchly this week. Thanks for posting.

Mom, thanks for paying to keep this book open, as comfort for us and an avenue of communication between those who loved Alex. Dad, you're far away but I know you miss Alex greatly. It's slightly odd signing your own brother's guestbook but I wanted to keep it alive. He is still missed as much, if not more, than the day we lost him. However his passing was not in vain for it taught me that life is more precious than can be put into words. Thanks to everyone who has been a supporter and friend over the past 18 months. Even if we haven't spoken or written, I know you care. Alex, I love and keep you always. This is a carving I made while visiting Amsterdam over Christmas. Hopefully it will last a very long time, like so much of what you made and loved.

i still think of you alot alex, i wish we could have spent more time together before i moved back down to oklahoma. i remember when i dubbed you "kinikifonz" because you wore that leather jacket all the time. you will forever always hold a special place in my heart and i will miss you always..i will see you when i get up there.

Sweet son Alex, I think of you every day and miss you always. The past year has brought more sadness with the death of your wonderful cousin Bill, who was so comforting when I lost you.

Now more than ever, I do not wonder where you are for I know you both live on in the deepest place in my soul. Nobody ever dies as long there is somebody left to remember.

I am so sorry that this happened. I has been awhile since I spoke to Alex and I just found out. I miss him terribly. He was one of my best friends while I was at NIU. He will be in my thoughts and your family will be in my prayers. I hope that someday the pain from this tragedy will ease. I am so sorry.

Having known Alex personally (through Daniel) I can truly say he was a remarkable young man, very intelligent, and very accepting of others. Were more like Him the world would be a better place. His death is a great loss to those of us left living who knew him. A parent should never have to bury a child. I pray for your hearts to be unbroken. To Mike and Shelley Cameron & Family, I am deeply saddened, & shocked really about the passing of one of our most beloved students. I will never forget Alex and his funny sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him and I think he knew we cared about him . It sounds as though he had his life in order and I am not surprised. I enjoyed our conversations in regards to great men in history and sometimes Shakespeare. A great light has gone out and my heart is broken for you all. I was unable to make it to the Mansion Reunion for students and staff so the last time I saw Alex before moving to Florida was Dec. 2001. When I left the Mansion after 15 plus years the students were asked to draw and write a good-bye card. I went to my old box filled with various Mansion papers and found Alex's. I read the paragraph that he wrote and was brought to tears. He was a fine, young man who was extremely intelligent. He will be missed.

Mike, Chris, Dan, Claire, Jens, and Shelley: Our love and prayers go out to all of you at this time of such tragedy. We watched Alex grow up from a baby to the fine young man he had become, and we will all miss him terribly.

We were so sorry to hear about Alex. Our son, Tyler, remembers Alex from grade school, and playing at his house when they were young. He liked Alex a lot, and was really upset to hear about his death. We forget, sometimes, how many people we briefly touch in the course of our lives, and it is no small thing to know that, decades after the fact, we may be remembered as having made a difference for having been there. Alex obviously did that. His loss diminishes all of us.

i hadn't seen alex in a while, but i am so proud of how far he has come. i will truely miss him. Love

Alex was my son Kevin Kraut's friend and roomate. He visited our house frequently during the past two years. He was a polite,kind young man, and we enjoyed having him in our house. Most recently he had dinner here one night. Kevin had warned me he was kindof picky about what he liked to eat. He had seconds that night. He also was the first to offer to clear the table and help with dinner. He was a fine young man who will be missed by many,especially my son Kevin. My son was lucky to have had a friend in Alex.

I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words that are adequate to express the sadness of the loss of this vibrant young man who promised so much.
