Rule, Aleene of Glenview, an only child born to Herbert and Edith Gum on January 12, 1930 in Miller, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 30, 2009. Aleene was raised in Springfield, MO graduating from Springfield Central High School and attended Drury College where she met her husband Bill (C.W.), the love of her life having celebrated their 60th anniversary in October. After moving to 11 cities for Bill's career, they settled in Glenview where they lived for 28 years. Aleene was a parochial school teacher for several years. She was a member of the board of directors of Peacock Camp and a member of the OLPH Women's Club. In addition to her husband, Aleene is survived by her daughters, Becky (Rick) Eberius, Kathy (Joe) Beilein, Jill (Chuck) Cale, and her son, Chris (Clare) Rule, grandchildren, Suzanne Clark, Laura Eberius, Joe Beilein, Jill Azar, Katie and Kelsie Cale, and Madeline, Olivia, and Caroline Rule. Visitation Saturday, 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd. (just south of Lake Ave. on west side), Glenview. Funeral from the funeral home 11:15 a.m. to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St. (at Church St.), Glenview for 11:30 Mass. Interment Private. Dear Bill,
Tom and I were so sorry to hear of Aleene's death. Why things happen we are not to know but to have faith that it is in God's plan.
We remember you both and Aleene being a gracious , fun-loving lady.
May God keep you in his arms at this time along with your family.
