Family-Placed Death Notice

Aldona Wise Eichler died November 11, 2003 at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. Oran Eichler, a professor at Georgia Tech. Mrs. Eichler was born and reared in Brooklyn, New York of Lithuanian parents and was very proud of her heritage. She was very active in the Georgia Tech Faculty Women's Club, having started a popular Newcomers Interest Group and was an early member of the Georgia Tech Book Discussion Group and a member of two bridge clubs. Aldona also volunteered her services to her church, the Red Cross, and the USO. She traveled the world with her husband and friends, and enjoyed many happy times on their houseboat at Aqualand on Lake Lanier. She is survived by her two sons and their families, Alan, Cindy, Eddie, and Stephanie, Oran, Linda, and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jamie. The body was cremated. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 13 from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Roswell Funeral Home. If desired the family requests that memorials be made to the Georgia Tech Faculty Women's Club Scholarship Endowment Fund, through the Georgia Tech Foundation at 177 North Avenue, Atlanta, GA. 30332.
