Albert Kasper Obituary

Kasper, Albert John 95C40070 died Thursday, August 30th, from Parkinson's disease. He had just turned 79 years. Albert was born in Chicago, IL, and his ill-health made him move to Santa Cruz in 1995, to be with his children. His two children, Carolyn Brook Wallace and Edward Kasper and two grandchildren, Dusty Brook and Doral Kasper and his sister, Ella Bock, survive him, his wife, Dorothy Marks, died in 1972. He served aboard the destroyer escort, USS Sellstrom during WWII, in his younger days he was interested in boxing, golfing, sailing and camping. After a visit to Jade Cove, CA, he became interested in rocks. He began to collect rocks and finally became an accomplished faceter. He worked for Be-Mac Trucking Company as a sales representative. He was a member of the Elk's Club (both in Chicago and Santa Cruz), the Gold Diggers of Chicago, The Santa Cruz Mineral and Gem Society and the local Parkinson's group, the Movers and Shakers. Services Saturday, September 8, 11 a.m., at Bethania Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Contributions are preferred to Hospice Caring Project, 6851 Soquel Dr., Aptos, CA, 95003.
