To my Father inlaw and most of all my friend.
I got to spend an entire summer with you while you where helping me every weekend to fix up my basement,
i learned many things about you ,
one of which was your love for your kids was unmatched, always talking about the kids and how much you enjoyed seeing them.
your love for alice was insurmuountable, and i know that you are back in her arms.
Your life on earth was cut short ,but your love and your memory will live on.

Dad-

I know that you are where you want to be… with mom. But with your passing, I feel that a part of me is lost. I love you so much and hope that you know this.

When mom passed just a little over a year ago, I promised her that I would take care of you. We talked almost every day on the phone and I really truly got closer to you this past year. I was so happy that I got you to take a road trip with me to Wisconsin this past summer. I know that you did not like long car trips and the one we took was about 4 hours and you did not like being away from home, but you joined me and my family and those memories will be with me the rest of my life.

I watched as you did things that you never have before. You had many firsts this past year including sleeping in a tent for the 1st time. I know you said you would never do it again, but you were happy that you got to experience it. We also made it to the Sandwich Fair this year and you had your first Elephant Ear, rode a small train and even pet a cow. I am so glad that I got to be with you during these times.

I want to thank you for being the best dad a girl could ever have. I am sorry that it took me to adulthood to realize just how many sacrifices you must have made to make sure that we kids got everything we needed and wanted. I will Miss You so very much and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

All my Love,
Vicki (bushy eyes)

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dad, I am so sad that you had to leave us so soon. I know that you were just beginning to come into your own after all of those years of taking care of Mom. I know that you missed Mom very much and if we had to loose you I am glad that two of you are reunited..

We will miss you very much!
