Words can not truly express the sorrow I feel on hearing of Alan's passing. What a fine person he was, devoted to living a life of quiet enjoyment in his practice, his golf and most importantly, with his family.

It was a pleasure to know him and to consider him a friend.

Alan contributed a great deal to his profession. The number of architectural activities that he participated in was quite impressive. He was always enthusiastic about the practice of architecture. The Chicago architectural community will miss him.

Alan befrended us when we opened our practice. HIs advice and encouragement was always a shinning light when things looked dark. His determination to become an architect and the repect he showed for his profession should be an inspiration to all.
